Opening the shades as morning comes
The clock’s steady hands tick along

Sitting on the train with my eyes closed
The sun is passing over my repose
I move through time, it moves through me
I’m not in search of anything
People do good and people do bad
It mostly depends on the circumstance
We hurt we heal we ache we burn
the world turns and turn and turns
I let them all see my face unmade
I thought it was a pain I could tolerate
I turned within and was born again
When the night fell with it came the rain
The droplets cling to the window pane
Bring the flood, cool my blood
In my wake I’ll leave no trace
Lay me down in the deep dark earth
Or spread my ash in the warm soft dirt
I no longer ache, I no longer weep
All I have to do now is sleep.

Only dust is left behind
I am not afraid of gravity’s embrace
Eternity awaits
